The Saw Operator is part of an established team in a fast-paced environment, responsible for performing various production tasks and metal fabrication saw cutting operations.

Saw Operator Job Duties:

• Ensures cut orders maintain planned schedule in order to achieve on time delivery to internal and external customers.

• Receives and inspects incoming raw material and produces a quality product with attention to detail.

• Responsible for picking, cutting, kitting, and serialization of material to be delivered to internal business units.
• Reads and interprets work orders and blueprints.
• Works on projects simultaneously in order to maximize production efforts and eliminate down time.
• Actively engages in safety of self and others within the facility, including holding internal customers and contractors responsible for best in class safety.
• Maintains equipment and supplies.
• Works with trade personnel and maintenance departments to sustain optimal productivity.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area with attention to quality and safety standards.
• Contributes to continuous improvement activities as needed.
• Follows directions of immediate supervisor and functional lead to complete daily tasks.

Skills & Experience:

• 1-3 years' experience in operating cutting equipment.
• Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in operating a forklift.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Academic Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED

Travel & Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted; must be able to sit or stand up to 8 hours per day uninterrupted
• Overtime as required to meet project goals.
• Able to work in non-climate controlled areas
